The Moonraker reported Swindon's interest in the attacking midfielder last week, but the Robins have been keen on him for quite some time. In fact, an initial move for the 24-year-old fell through several weeks ago.

After more than a month of back-and-forth between Town and Posh, a deal has been struck which will see the 27-year-old striker move to Wiltshire until the end of the season.

Tshimanga will join Town on loan next week, in a much-needed boost for head coach Mark Kennedy. The 27-year-old forward has been holding out for a move to League Two, having initially seen his parent club reject Swindon's advances.

Swindon now feel they are covered in wide positions. Miguel Freckleton is also seen as backup to Longelo, while youngster Joel McGregor offers further depth.

Town are seeking depth in wide positions, to support the wing-backs currently in the squad - Tunmise Sobowale, Rosaire Longelo and Joel McGregor.

Cotterill's arrival helps establish a pattern of Swindon targeting players who are on their second loan away from their parent clubs, rather than drafting youngsters without senior experience.
