Ollie Clarke faces weeks on the sidelines after rupturing a tendon in his foot.
Clarke sustained the injury after rolling his ankle in training last week, and a scan has since revealed the extent of the damage.
Depending on the severity of the problem, the Swindon Town captain’s absence could stretch into months, but manager Ian Holloway placed an optimistic four weeks the midfielder’s recovery time.
Clarke has endured more than his fair share of injury issues since joining Town from Mansfield in the summer.
