Ian Holloway is ready to give his Swindon Town players the silent treatment in a bid to improve his team’s fortunes.

Holloway has only been officially in post at Town for 11 days but he has already made a considerable mark, with the general atmosphere among the playing staff lifting and back-to-back cup victories giving much-needed cheer for fans.

Still, by his own admission there is a long way to go. Swindon are 22nd in League Two, and though Holloway refuses to contemplate a relegation battle – instead focusing on how high he can elevate his new club up the division over the remaining 32 matches – he recognises plenty of work needs to be done to unleash his squad’s potential.

That work is going to come in many shapes and sizes.
