George Cox could be back available for Swindon Town as early as the visit of Barrow after his injury diagnosis was revised.
Town had announced Cox was likely to be out for as long as two months after an X-ray appeared to reveal a break in a bone in his foot.
The left-back had complained of discomfort during the first half of the defeat at Notts County on January 4, following a collision early in the game, and he was withdrawn at half-time.
Swindon subsequently sent Cox for the relevant scans to determine the nature of the damage, and he was advised he had suffered a fracture of the medial cuneiform.
