It was not until 10 years old that Joel McGregor showed a concerted interest in football.

Before then, though he would kick a ball about with his brother Nathan and dad Adam, there was no indication that his future would lie in the game.

When mum Louise took him along to local club Brislington to watch Nathan play, Joel would spend more time picking dandelions than watching the action.
