On Tuesday, Swindon Town announced they have nominated Botan Ameen for an EFL Apprentice of the Season award.

A long article on the club’s website included references from academy manager Mark Moss and under-18s lead Sean Wood, discussing the forward’s ability and attitude in glowing terms.

Recently, first-team manager Ian Holloway compared Ameen’s skillset to that of Ryan Giggs, following his match-changing contribution against Doncaster Rovers.

“He floats so beautifully with the ball and I believe that he could do it against anybody,” Holloway said.
