Keeping Harry Smith is critical to Project Holloway... and will give a good gauge of the Morfuni regime

Smith may be 30 years old, and may only have one year remaining on his current deal, but his value to the Robins is vastly more than the sum of his contractual parts.

Harry Smith is in demand, and what happens next could be an interesting indication of how far Swindon Town are willing to back Project Holloway.

Earlier this week, Swindon rejected an approach from Cambridge United for Smith.

The Moonraker understands Cambridge’s offer was £75,000 across two instalments, and was quickly dismissed by the football department at the County Ground.

Whether or not the U’s return to the negotiating table remains to be seen, but it feels unlikely that they would be able to command the sort of fee which would make Swindon think twice.
