Trust STFC say County Ground rent payment "only made after being chased or notice given that supporters would be informed" for past three months

EXCLUSIVE: “After several months of the rent being paid on time via a standing order, the last three months have all been late, with payment only made after being chased or notice given that supporters would be informed,” a spokesperson told The Moonraker.

Swindon Town have only paid rent to the County Ground Joint Venture when chased or when the threat has been made to expose late payment to supporters in each of the past three months, according to Trust STFC.

The stadium is under the joint management of supporters and club, via a company called The County Ground Custodians Ltd, in which both Town and the Trust hold a 50 per cent share.

Representatives of the Nigel Eady estate also monitor the Joint Venture, and attend board meetings.

The setup is designed to give fans a say in the running and future of Swindon’s historic town-centre ground.
