Ryan Delaney will remain a Swindon Town player for the immediate future after the EFL transfer window closed with no more offers for the defender.

Delaney had been told he was surplus to requirements at the County Ground earlier in the summer. Swindon told the Irishman he could look for a new club.

In the weeks since, the defender has had interest – most notably from former club Newport County.

However, he has been holding out for a switch to the north, where his partner’s family hail from.
