Aaron Drinan’s unexpected rise to become Swindon Town’s hotshot striker has landed him the League Two player of the month award for September.
Drinan scored six goals in five appearances across the calendar month, taking his season total to eight. He has netted in six consecutive games.
But is not just the volume of goals that has set Drinan apart from much of the rest of the division. It is his sheer efficiency in the final third.
While Drinan is out on his own in terms of goals in League Two, he is only ninth on the expected goals charts.
