A busy summer of negotiation has already begun at the County Ground, as Swindon Town try to convince Joel McGregor to extend his stay in Wiltshire.
McGregor still has a year left on his current contract, with the option for a further season, but Swindon are keen to recognise his contributions to the first team – and protect their asset.
The full-back is on first-year pro rates, which ultimately amount to little more than minimum wage.
The Moonraker understands the offer that is on the table for the teenager to consider is a one-year extension on fresh terms, which would increase his pay packet and put Town in a stronger position to negotiate with third parties if another club came in with a bid.
