Swindon Town's early business continues with arrival of James Ball... but where does that leave Nnamdi Ofoborh?

Ball offers cover as a midfield disruptor, where Darren Oldaker brings ‘playmaker’ characteristics, similar to those already held by Gavin Kilkenny, to the group.

Swindon Town have further bolstered their midfield with the signing of James Ball following his release by AFC Wimbledon.

Ball played 21 times for the Dons last season, as they secured promotion to League One with victory over Walsall in the playoff final at Wembley.

A combative holding midfielder, he has also played as a centre-back, an attacking central midfielder and as a striker over the course of his career.

At 29 years old, Ball has over 300 career appearances to his name. But, as was the case with Town’s other midfield summer signing Darren Oldaker, most of these have come in non-league.
