Aaron Drinan has committed his future to Swindon Town, signing a new contract at the County Ground until the summer of 2028.

The Irishman has been in the form of his life this season, scoring 24 goals in all competitions – including 18 in Swindon’s push for promotion from League Two.

His record prompted interest in his services in January, with Salford City mounting a pair of bids – worth £250,000 and £400,000 – for the forward.

Town rejected both approaches, and moved quickly to tie Drinan to a longer stay as soon as the transfer window closed.
