Swindon Town’s move for Grimsby Town winger Charles Vernam has fallen through.

The Moonraker understands the Robins had agreed a deal in principle with Grimsby which would see the 28-year-old make the switch to Wiltshire. No fee is believed to have been involved.

Vernam travelled to Swindon on Thursday (June 19) to discuss terms. However, an agreement was unable to be reached.

Vernam and his young family hail from the north east, and relocation to the south west is understood to have been a sticking point.
