Swindon Town are searching for a new academy manager after confirming the impending departure of Alex Pike.

Pike is understood to be moving to work in the academy at a Premier League club, but will see out his notice period at Swindon – or possibly leave sooner if his successor at the County Ground is appointed before that period is up.

A Town fan, Pike has been the academy manager for a little more than a year, having assumed the role when Jamie Russell was promoted to head of football.

He has been at the club for six years, rising from under-nines foundation phase coach to foundation phase lead coach, prior to taking the top development job 15 months ago.
