Swindon Town opt not to appeal James Ball red card at Colchester United despite Ian Holloway's objections

Ball will serve a three-match ban, starting with the visit of Accrington Stanley. Holloway told the local media: “Do you think for one minute we're going to get that rescinded in any way, shape or form?"

Swindon Town will be without James Ball for the rest of the regular season after they opted against appealing his red card against Colchester United.

Ball was sent off midway through the first half on Friday night (April 11), following a mis-timed tackle on Finley Barbrook.

While Ian Holloway objected to referee Paul Howard’s decision, he and the rest of the coaching staff believed they stood little chance of being successful in overturning the onfield action.

Ball will therefore serve a three-match ban, starting with the visit of Accrington Stanley to the County Ground on Saturday (April 18).
