Swindon Town missed out on a young Southampton midfielder, as they looked to bulk out the middle of the park in the current transfer window.
The Robins were looking for a playmaker or an aggressive holding midfielder as part of their recruitment in the ongoing transfer window.
They felt they partially solved that equation with the arrival of Newcastle United teenager Anthony Munda, but there were further gaps left in the squad.
The Moonraker understands Swindon made an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to sign Joe O’Brien-Whitmarsh on a permanent deal from Southampton.
