Swindon Town head of football Jamie Russell is set to leave the club.

The Moonraker understands Russell’s departure is on his own terms, having accepted a job at League Two rivals Salford City, where he is expected to replace Chris Casper as sporting director.

The former academy manager was promoted to the role in the senior setup in 2023, following the sacking of Town’s previous sporting director Sandro di Michele.

It is unclear which direction the recruitment department at the club will now move.
