Swindon Town are expected to confirm Aaron Drinan’s new contract this week, as Ian Holloway prepares to receive his players for pre-season training.

Drinan is understood to have agreed to a two-year extension several weeks ago, but the paperwork has had to wait to be formally completed until the Irishman returns from his holidays.

With Town set to return to training on Monday (June 23), however, the forward is set to be back in Wiltshire and the deal is anticipated to be over the line before the weekend.

Drinan missed the final two months of last season through injury but by then had already won Holloway over with his work rate on either side of a front three.
