Swindon Town are closing in on the signing of another forward, with an announcement potentially coming before the Friday-night trip to Newport County.

Town manager Ian Holloway has become concerned that injury to Harry Smith during the final three months of the campaign would significantly disrupt his side's progress.

Holloway has identified a player he feels will add goalscoring ability to the Town frontline, and a deal appears close to being confirmed.

Smith has 12 goals in 25 appearances for the Robins this season, while no other player has more than five.
