Swindon Town are set to further add to their ranks with the permanent signing of Sunderland midfielder Ben Middlemas.

The Moonraker understands Middlemas, 21, will pen a full-time contract at the County Ground after an agreement was reached between the sides.

The playmaker will get his first taste of EFL football at Swindon, after coming through the youth ranks at the Stadium of Light.

Middlemas is expected to become Swindon’s third January signing, following in the footsteps of Michael Olakigbe and Aidan Borland.
