Scott Sinclair’s time with Swindon Town is over, manager Ian Holloway has confirmed.

As reported by The Moonraker last week, Swindon opted against pursuing a deal for the 36-year-old, despite Holloway’s personal relationship with the player and his pedigree in the game.

The Robins were already well covered across the forward line, and the arrival of Billy Bodin effectively put paid to any chance Sinclair had of getting a deal.

In reality, his time at Town was less of a trial and more of an opportunity to gain fitness levels: a favour granted to him by a manager who wanted to help.
