Planning permission has been granted for Swindon Town to create a ‘fanzone’ outside the County Ground.

Revised proposals were submitted in early July, which saw the plot widened slightly but shortened by around 25 per cent, after objections by ecologists and concerns voiced by the South Swindon Parish Council.

The new proposals were approved at a meeting on July 31.

Fencing around the perimeter has been replaced in the blueprint by hedges and railings, and the statue of Don Rogers – commissioned by Trust STFC – will sit at the heart of a graveled area.
