Swindon Town say overdue accounts are the reason for the club's parent company receiving a strike-off notice.

Axis Football Investments, the company which sits at the top of the Town ownership tree, received the notice from Companies House on July 9.

A first Gazette compulsory strike-off notice is often used to encourage businesses to file late paperwork. AFI's accounts are six-and-a-half months late, having been due in December last year.

The Moonraker has been assured by Swindon chief executive Anthony Hall that the overdue accounts have been drafted and signed off.
