Ollie Palmer expected back in light training next week as Swindon Town hope target man can return ahead of schedule

Manager Ian Holloway reported on Thursday (October 22) that Palmer looks likely to be back on grass at some point next week. His initial prognosis was a 10-week absence, and that now looks like a timescale which could be beaten.

Ollie Palmer could be back in Swindon Town training as early as next week in what would be a considerable boost to the Robins.

Palmer has been absent for almost seven weeks with an ankle problem sustained during the clash with Port Vale at the County Ground at the start of September.

The forward suffered an ankle injury during that game, but played on and subsequently experienced considerable swelling in the area.

He has recently been involved in specialist rehabilitation work in London, alongside Harry Smith, and the results appear to be positive.
