Any Swindon Town supporter hoping for a Nathan Thompson homecoming is going to end up disappointed, despite the defender’s recent release by MK Dons.

Thompson’s contract with Town’s rivals in League Two was announced on Friday (January 30) after an injury-hit time in Buckinghamshire.

The defender moved to the Dons a year ago but has rarely featured, after suffering a serious knee injury in his second outing for the club.

"Nathan is extremely well thought of at Stadium MK, but it was agreed that the move was best for all parties," said a club statement, confirming his exit.
