Aaron Drinan's Achilles tendon injury is not expected to be serious enough to rule him out of action for a prolonged period.

Drinan was due to start the game at Newport County on Saturday (October 4) but pulled out of the warmup after teeling soreness in the area.

It was an issue which had bothered him earlier in the week, but appeared to be easing off when the Swindon team trained on Thursday and Friday.

However, when the tendon stiffened ahead of kickoff in south Wales, the player, manager Ian Holloway and the medical team made the precationary decision to pull him from proceedings.
