Miguel Freckleton to be reintegrated into Swindon Town squad as Sheffield United fail to find alternative loan option

Swindon could have sent the youngster back to train in Yorkshire for the rest of the campaign, but they would still have been liable for the wage contribution they signed up to in the summer.

Miguel Freckleton will be reintegrated into the Swindon Town squad for the remainder of the season once he has recovered from injury.

Freckleton, who has not played for the Robins since October, had been expected to return to parent club Sheffield United during January.

However, it emerged that Swindon did not have the right to automatically send the defender back - despite a difficult first experience of EFL life in Wiltshire.

Three-party agreement, between the two clubs and the player, was required in order for the loan arrangement to be cut short. And with the Blades struggling to find Freckleton an alternative option elsewhere - and given his injury - that has not been forthcoming this month.
