Danny Butterworth is set to miss around four months after rupturing part of his hamstring.

Butterworth sustained the injury during the 4-0 defeat at Accrington Stanley last week.

The attacking midfielder was only introduced as a second-half substitute at the Wham Stadium but was unable to complete the game after picking up the problem in innocuous circumstances as he played a long ball up the field.

He has subsequently undergone a scan to determine the extent of the damage, and the diagnosis is not favourable.
