Swindon Town have completed their summer transfer business with the signing of defender George Cox.

Cox was a free agent after leaving Volendam in May and has put pen to paper on a one-year contract in Wiltshire.

There have been links between Swindon and a possible move for the left-back since June, but a deal was resurrected late in the window after the Robins' playing budget received a timely bump in the final few days before deadline.

That boost has allowed the club to make several permanent signings, including those of Gavin Kilkenny and Danny Butterworth, and has also given the financial wiggle-room necessary to bring in Cox.
