James Ball avoids serious injury as MRIs and X-rays come out clear to allow swift return to training

Initial X-rays showed there were no fractures, and Ball was then sent for further assessment to establish whether or not there was any ligament disruption within the relevant joint. Following a scan early this week, those concerns have been quelled.

James Ball has avoided major injury to his left arm, after leaving the County Ground in an ambulance on Saturday.

Ball was seen with his arm in a brace in the aftermath of the defeat by Crewe Alexandra, after he landed awkwardly from an aerial challenge in the opening minutes of the second half.

The utility player suffered a dislocation in his wrist, but there were initial fears that the problem could be much worse.

Initial X-rays showed there were no fractures, and Ball was then sent for further assessment to establish whether or not there was any ligament disruption within the relevant joint.
