History boys? Swindon Town can equal club goalscoring feat not achieved since 1962 at Salford City

The last recorded instance took place in 1962, when a Robins side featuring the likes of John Trollope, Mike Summerbee, Ernie Hunt and Roger Smart went on the rampage.

Swindon Town have a chance to match a club record, most recently achieved in 1962, when they visit Salford City this weekend.

The Robins are the top goalscorers in the EFL, having managed 17 in the league so far this season.

And they have found the back of the net three times in each of their past four matches in all competitions.

No Swindon side had managed that feat since 1991, and if they can hit a triple again on Saturday (September 20), they will equal the longest run of consecutive matches in which a Town team has scored three.
