Harry Smith's "nose is like the M4" as Swindon Town wait to discover if key striker will be able to face Notts County

Manager Ian Holloway has insisted the forward was withdrawn from the win over Colchester because of pain in his nose, meaning he could yet be available for the trip to Notts County.

Swindon Town will have to wait to see how quickly Harry Smith recovers from the facial injury which forced him out of the New Year’s Day win over Colchester United.

Smith suffered a bloody nose following a clash of heads during the first half of the game at the County Ground, with the effects of the knock ultimately proving too much.

The striker was substituted nine minutes after half-time, despite the medical staff initially determining that he had not suffered a concussion.

Swindon are back in action again on Saturday (December 4), and if Smith had been found to be concussed he would have had to sit out the game.
