Harrison Minturn has suffered a setback in his recovery from a groin injury and may now require surgery.
The defender has not featured for Swindon Town since December, having been struck down by a so-called Gilmore's Groin problem - a chronic pain condition in the groinal area.
Minturn had been making slow but steady progress towards a potential return to the first-team squad before the end of the season, including running on grass at the club's Beversbrook training base.
However, his situation has now changed.
