Fletcher Holman is expected to be out of action for at least two months, after a scan revealed the extent of the damage to his hamstring.
Holman hobbled out of the pre-season friendly against Bristol City on Saturday (July 25) after pulling up.
He left the County Ground on crutches and has subsequently had further examination on the trouble area.
That scan suggested he has sustained a tear of the hamstring severe enough to keep him sidelined from eight to 10 weeks.
