Filozofe Mabete suffering after-effects of blow to head at Salford City but no fracture reported ahead of Bromley trip

Manager Ian Holloway reported that the centre-back struggled through training at Beversbrook on Thursday (January 22). With that in mind, his participation in the top-of-the-table clash at the weekend is still in doubt.

Filozofe Mabete has not suffered a broken bone in his face but is a doubt for the weekend trip to Bromley following a blow suffered during the midweek FA Cup defeat by Salford City.

Mabete was unintentionally struck by Ryan Graydon’s elbow during the first half of the game at the Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday (January 20).

He required several minutes of treatment on the pitch before having to withdraw from the match, with Will Wright taking his place.

Following further assessment and an X-ray, Mabete has been told there is no fracture to his cheek or eye socket.
