Swindon Town have succeeded in a second long-running pursuit of a summer transfer target after completing the permanent signing of Danny Butterworth from Carlisle United.

Butterworth joins Town on a two-year contract, and will be available to make his debut against Notts County this weekend.

The Moonraker reported Swindon's interest in the attacking midfielder last week, but the Robins have been keen on him for quite some time.

In fact, an initial move for the 24-year-old fell through several weeks ago, after Carlisle were hit by a series of injuries in their ranks.
