Danny Butterworth has undergone a second hamstring surgery in a matter of months, and will play no further part in Swindon Town’s season.

Butterworth went back under the knife this week in an effort to correct the damage sustained to his hamstring back in the autumn.

The forward tore part of the muscle from the bone when launching a pass at Accrington Stanley.

He had his first operation at the end of October, and was initially earmarked for a return in February or March.
