Clem Morfuni is expected to commit to further spending in January in a bid to keep Swindon Town in the EFL.

Morfuni increased the playing budget significantly in mid-August, but Swindon have endured a terrible season, and sit third from bottom of League Two.

Relegation to the National League would come at significant cost to Town, given the decrease in centralised EFL funding, TV rights payouts and matchday attendances.

In order to protect the money he has already put into the club - in initial equity and in subsequent loans - Morfuni needs to chase survival.
