Swindon Town chief executive Anthony Hall has stressed that Clem Morfuni intends to “solely” finance the first phase of County Ground redevelopment.

Exchanges at a fans’ forum on Thursday (May 1) muddied the waters about who will pay for the proposed installation of corporate boxes, and additional improvements to the Don Rogers Stand.

The chairman’s answers to supporters’ questions on Thursday appeared to indicate he would seek external funding arrangements for all bar the initial £1million of outlay.

However, in a statement 48 hours earlier, Swindon had confirmed that the project was expected to cost as much as £3m, and that Morfuni would be responsible for the funding.
