Billy Kirkman set for up to six weeks out but knee injury not as bad as first feared, Grant Hall closes in on return

Kirkman was withdrawn just eight minutes after coming on as a substitute at the County Ground on Saturday (January 18), and Swindon's initial fears were that he had suffered a tear of the medial collateral ligament in his knee.

Had that been the case, the defender could have been sidelined for much of the rest of the season if not its entirety. However, there are now hopes he will be fit to feature during the run-in.

As a result, there appears to be less of a pressing need to recruit cover during the final 10 days of the transfer window.
