Swindon Town's medical department will assess Billy Kirkman's ankle on Wednesday after he had to be withdrawn at half-time in the EFL Trophy clash with Birmingham City.

Kirkman complained of discomfort following a knock in the first half of the game at the County Ground.

The extent of the problem suffered by the young defender is as yet unclear, and Swindon will be desperately hoping it is not serious.

"He's got quite a sore ankle, which is the only downer from today," manager Ian Holloway said after the game.
