Ben Middlemas has been sent to see a specialist to determine the extent of his knee problem, and there are fears that a lengthy absence could be possible.
Middlemas picked up the problem during the 2-1 home defeat by Crystal Palace in the EFL Trophy last week. He complained of soreness in the area after the match and was initially assessed by Swindon's medical team.
The midfielder did not feature either at Salford City last weekend or in the EFL Trophy loss at home against Newport County on Tuesday, and on Thursday (September 24), manager Ian Holloway confirmed that the player requires specialist assessment to determine the full extent of the damage.
