Swindon Town striker Aaron Drinan has been named League Two player of the season at the EFL Awards.

Drinan’s 22 league goals have helped keep Town in the promotion picture throughout the campaign, representing a remarkable comeback storyline following his injury last term.

The Irishman missed the last three months of the 2024/25 season, having only just broken back into the first team, because of a knee injury.

His manager Ian Holloway had the necessary faith in the striker to offer him a new contract with his previous deal expiring last June, and Drinan has repaid the club in droves in the following months.
