Paul Glatzel becomes first out-of-contract Swindon Town player to commit to club but waiting game goes on for others

Holloway, who had initially struggled to find a role for Glatzel, was won over by his selflessness and endeavour. And that has led to a new deal, which Swindon hope will be the first of many announced over the coming month.

Paul Glatzel will remain a Swindon Town player until at least 2027 after penning a two-year contract extension at the club.

The German forward's old deal was due to expire next month, but he has been retained by Ian Holloway for what the Town manager hopes will be a League Two promotion push in 2025/26.

Glatzel was used sparingly by Holloway during his first five months in the job in Wiltshire, but gathered form from early April - providing a useful outlet on the right of a front three.
