Fair Game Index scores show why independent regulator for football is critical, say Trust STFC

The Fair Game Index’s contested ranking of Swindon Town is a good example of why an independent regulator is necessary for football.
That’s the view of Trust STFC, whose vice-chair James Phipps has told The Moonraker that Swindon’s high score makes sense on paper, but lacks nuance or a detailed outlook on the state of play at the club.
The Fair Game Index is a ratings matrix which considers, in its founders’ own words, financial sustainability, good governance, fan engagement, and equality standards.
