Marcus Bignot arrives as number two to Mark Kennedy at Swindon Town

The former full-back made more than 700 appearances for his various clubs across 24 years as a player. He subsequently moved into coaching. Bignot has plenty of experience in the dugout, starting with a stint in charge of Birmingham City Women when he was in his mid-20s.

Swindon Town have appointed Marcus Bignot as assistant to head coach Mark Kennedy.

Bignot arrives in Wiltshire after an extensive coaching and playing career, which has included stints managing in the EFL, youth pathways, and the women's game.

"There are clubs at various levels who reach their ceiling, but I think many people in football will agree, that Swindon has been higher in the pyramids and is synonymous with competing in the higher divisions and we want to be part of the team that helps this club achieve that," Bignot said, after agreeing terms with Town.
