Billy Kirkman will be out of action for up to six weeks after suffering an MCL sprain during Swindon Town's victory over Barrow.

Kirkman was withdrawn just eight minutes after coming on as a substitute at the County Ground on Saturday (January 18), and Swindon's initial fears were that he had suffered a tear of the medial collateral ligament in his knee.

Had that been the case, the defender could have been sidelined for much of the rest of the season if not its entirety. However, there are now hopes he will be fit to feature during the run-in.
