Swindon Town’s redevelopment proposals have not secured enough support from Trust STFC members for the project to be put forward for planning approval.

On Friday (June 13), the Trust revealed that, by a sliver, the plans for the Don Rogers Stand won a majority – but nowhere near enough to surpass the level required by the County Ground joint venture agreement.

The vote was open to 1,263 Trust members, with 955 taking part – a turnout of 76 per cent. That turnout is significantly higher than the equivalent for the stadium business plan vote last year, but lower than the ballot about County Ground acquisition.
