Swindon Borough Council will make a final decision on County Ground stadium safety on Friday as Swindon Town hurry to complete relevant works in time for the weekend visit of Cambridge United.
Town were told by the local authority’s Safety Advisory Group, following an audit in June, that several issues needed to be rectified in order for the relevant permissions and certification to be granted, allowing the club to host fans or avoid a reduced capacity.
That programme of work continues with two days remaining until the scheduled first home game of the 2025/26. The Moonraker understands fire safety upgrades have been among the outstanding items this week.
